The William T. Grant Foundation

The William T. Grant Foundation supported our evaluation of the effectiveness of the SSP. From its inception in 1936 to today, its goal is to help create a society that values young people and enables them to reach their full potential. The Foundation funds research and activities designed to improve the quality of research and the use of empirical evidence. Its president, Robert C. The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has been our funding partner for several years. The Foundation was established in 1950 as a private foundation dedicated to, among other ideals of the Knight brothers, service to community. Communities In Schools

Communities In Schools, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in November 2002, serves as the nation's leading community-based organization helping students achieve success in school and prepare for life. Founder Bill Milliken and the CIS network are important advocates for children in need and have been most successful in connecting needed community resources with schools. CIS has been a partner with The University of North Carolina's School of Social Work and the SSP for more than a decade.

CIS of Georgia supports Nancy Turner, CIS of Georgia Field Liaison, as an SSP Trainer, concentrating on the many CIS sites in the state using the SSP.

Flying Bridge Technologies

Flying Bridge provides web site design, development, and hosting for small businesses, non-profit organizations, and educational entities. Flying Bridge was founded in September of 1998 and has grown rapidly since then. It boasts clients ranging in size from small business startups to Fortune 100 companies. Flying Bridge is the corporate partner of SSP. It has developed the online system for the SSP, which has worked flawlessly and has significantly increased our capacity to handle demand. It also partners with the SSP Team in the development of the Elementary School Success Profile.

North Carolina Education Research Data Center (ERDC) at Duke University

The North Carolina Education Research Data Center (ERDC) at Duke University is part of a partnership with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to facilitate problem-focused research on education. The ERDC is working with the SSP team on the W. T. Grant Foundation-funded evaluation of the School Success Profile-Intervention Package (SSP-IP). They are responsible for the collection of data on all North Carolina public schools and their students, and will provide access to and consultation on these data over the course of the study period. They are also performing critical data merging tasks that will enable the analysis of unique streams of data, such as SSP survey data and end-of-grade test scores, helping to create a data set that is the first of its kind.
